Khenchen Tsewang Gyatso Rinpoche’s fluent English, sense of humor and deep insight into Western culture

make him a reputable and popular teacher.

Venerable Khenchen (Leading Professor) Tsewang Gyatso Rinpoche is a distinguished lama of the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism

and one of the three senior Khenpos (Professors) at Ngagyur Nyingma Institute at Namdroling Monastery in Bylakuppe, India;

where he is responsible for the last three years of training for Buddhist shedra (seminary) students.

He is an authentic and qualified teacher, a recognized scholar and accomplished Dzogchen master.

The head of the Palyul lineage (and former head of the Nyingma tradition, retired), His Holiness Penor Rinpoche (www.palyul.org),

personally chose Khenchen Tsewang Gyatso Rinpoche as the most qualified lama to teach and found Palyul dharma centers in the West.

Khenchen Tsewang Gyatso Rinpoche has been traveling and teaching in the US for almost 20 years, speaks excellent English,

and is a very engaging and humorous speaker.  He also has the rare and precious ability to speak to all levels of students at once.

He has been our best-kept 'secret' in the US for many years! His ability to simply and easily explain and teach even the most complicated concepts

has led to his teaching commitments growing expotentially beyond the US. He travels and teaches in India, Singapore,

Taiwan, the Philippines, Germany and Australia, as well as the US.

Khenchen Tsewang Gyatso Rinpoche has received all of the major lineage empowerments and transmissions of the Nyingma school and has done

intensive dzogchen practice under the guidance of His Holiness Penor Rinpoche and other eminent dzogchen masters,

such as Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche, Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche, Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche

and Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche.

His Holiness Penor Rinpoche (founder and head of Namdroling Monastery, Bylakuppe, India, see www.palyul.org) has authorized

Khenchen Tsewang Gyatso Rinpoche to represent Namdroling Monastery and to teach, confer empowerments and to give personal instruction

in Buddhist practice. He is the representative of His Holiness Penor Rinpoche in the US.

Khenchen Tsewang Gyatso Rinpoche and His Holiness Penor Rinpoche will be spending one month with US students this year at the annual

summer retreat. The annual Palyul U.S. summer retreat is July 10 - August 10 at Palyul Ling Retreat Center in upstate NY. The summer retreat teaching

program in the U.S. is identical to the annual retreat teaching program at Namdoling Monastery. The Palyul seven year retreat program is a seven year

teaching program beginning with Ngondro and ending with the highest dzogchen teachings.

We in the U.S. are so very fortunate to have an authentic seven year teaching retreat here - lead by His Holiness Penor Rinpoche!
