5/22/2015-Life in village is hard. Fetching a water is a daily chore one has to take. For the most part of the village, there is no electricity. Cooking takes double the time because collecting the woods in advance and igniting takes a significant effort. And, it does not have the convenience of turning up the fire high or low. They do not have the luxury of working 9 to 5 on the weekdays and rest on the weekend. Working in the field is a never ending process for them until their lifetime. No sick call- in days. If the crops don’t get taken care in time, family will stay hungry. With No solid healthcare access, very little literacy rate, and now this earthquake-Life has bestowed them enough of insurmountable hardships.
Even during the crisis, we want to thank all helping hands without whom the journey would have been impossible. Many thanks to our uncle, Ang Tshiring Sherpa, and Sherpa School for taking care of our logistics during our stay in Ramechhap. Many thanks to the sponsors and supporters for making the trip possible.
We are heading to Gorkha and Dhading this next week.
