Free and open to the public, the Crow Museum of Asian Art of The University of Texas at Dallas celebrates the arts and cultures of Asia – from ancient eras to contemporary times – through a variety of permanent and traveling exhibitions that showcase the arts of a multitude of countries.
With an array of beautiful spaces and galleries, the museum offers a serene setting for quiet reflection in the heart of the Dallas Arts District.

Hours: The Crow Museum of Asian Art of The University of Texas at Dallas is open Tuesdays-Sundays (11 a.m.- 5 p.m.). The museum is closed on Mondays.
In 1998, the Crow family debuted the Trammel and Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art in a building on Flora Street to become a permanent museum to house their numerous significant art acquisitions from global travels. The Crows opened the museum to share their passion for Asian culture with Dallas residents and visitors to the city. It remains one of only a few museums in the United States dedicated exclusively to Asian art.
Known today as the Crow Museum of Asian Art of The University of Texas at Dallas, the institution’s vision remains the same: To love and celebrate the arts and cultures of Asia. The permanent collection includes more than 600 ancient to contemporary works in galleries dedicated to China, India, Japan, Korea, and Southeastern Asia. Many of the pieces were once displayed at Crow-owned properties, including their own homes, as well as office buildings and hotels. Today, a nice selection of their collection can also be seen at the Hilton Anatole, both inside and outside of the hotel.
In addition to the indoor galleries, the Crow Museum offers visitors a tranquil escape in the middle of the bustling downtown Dallas Arts District with its outdoor sculpture gardens filled with bamboo, azaleas, maple and pine trees, and water features. Other offerings during the year include wellness classes, yoga and meditation, lectures and gallery talks, and docent-led tours.
Rare Earth: The Art and Science of Chinese Stones
Open through Feb. 26, 2023. This exhibition explores the different ways that Chinese and Western cultures have celebrated the beauty found in, and created from, natural stones. Reflecting the educational mission of The University of Texas at Dallas to unite scientific and artistic thinking, this exhibition pairs works of Chinese art from the Crow Museum’s permanent collection with connoisseur-level samples of raw minerals from China.
