A 55-foot cowboy affectionately known as Big Tex greets you with a spirited “howdy, folks!” as soon as you arrive – you can’t miss him! Cheer with the roar of the crowd while seeing the Allstate Red River Rivalry Showdown, sitting on the edge of your seat as the Texas Longhorns play against the Oklahoma Sooners on Oct. 7.

The Fair runs for 24 consecutive days each fall, making it the longest-running fair in the nation. In 2023, the State Fair of Texas will be open Sept. 29 - Oct. 22. The State Fair of Texas features a variety of events that occur across the fair's grounds.
Daily admission tickets are $5-25 per person, but there are special discounts available on select days. You can also buy a season pass for $50 and visit as many times as you want!
The Texas State Fair address is in historic Fair Park, located at 3809 Grand Ave. in South Dallas. Parking is available from $20-40 per car at official Fair lots. Pro tip – take the DART Green Line to Fair Park Station and avoid traffic and parking altogether.
