Describe The Event Nerd

The Event Nerd is a boutique experiential design agency focusing on the ways that artistry, technology, and storytelling connect. That’s a really fancy way of saying we like telling really cool stories for our clients with our friends, most of whom happen to be artists and nerds.

What makes The Event Nerd Unique

We are all nerds. No, seriously, like all of us. Each of us is nerdy about something slightly different, but the nerd cred is strong with this crew. Whether it’s musical theater, comic books, art collecting, nuclear physics, classic cars, or AI…we go down a LOT of rabbit holes, so we get to bring a lot to every experience we’re privileged to co-create with our clients.

Why Are You The Go-To Option for Meeting Planners

We ask “what if…?” and “why not?” a lot. Someone once told me that we aren’t designing an event for 5,000 people. We’re designing 5,000 micro-experiences, and that’s always stuck with me. For that reason, we think through every inch of people’s experiences and try to make sure they’re enjoying it the entire way through. Whether it’s hidden rooms and tiny decals on windows, or live bands and DJS on stage playing custom songs for the CMO… We’re also really nerdy (I mean, it’s in the name) so we’re probably going to throw a crazy idea or two (or 4) your way.

What do you love about being in Dallas?

We have one of the most vibrant arts and culture scenes in the country…and so many people still don’t know about it. The level of work that’s being created in and by Dallas artists is astounding, and we get to be a part of that and inspired by that every day. There are the other easy things to call out like ease of travel, size of the experiences we get to create, etc…but for me, the real magic of Dallas is in its power to create and celebrate its creators.

What is Your Favorite Event You Have Produced

Hands down, Questlove’s Hip Hop Brunch. Getting to work with the DSO, Big Thought, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, and the incomparable Questlove and Stro Elliot was a dream. It showed how badass Dallas is and delivered an experience that Dallas deserved.
