For impeccable service and a classic steakhouse environment, head to Oak Lawn for an Al Biernat's meal. Boasting an impressive daily fresh fish selection and a fun cocktail menu, this eatery has a great patio as well. Go for brunch and don't miss the shrimp and crab scramble with a side of brioche French toast. You simply can't go wrong here.
Cadot
Jean-Maris Cadot of Paris brings to Dallas French dishes (among other globally inspired menu items) perfected by a long line of chefs in his family, as well as first-class service. A romantic date-night spot, you'll find pasta, sandwiches, seafood and more at Cadot on Preston Road. Guests rave about the consistent quality of the food and service.
Monarch
Take in amazing views of the Dallas skyline from the 49th floor of the Thompson Hotel, where this Downtown restaurant is making waves with its show-stopping Italian dishes. The atmosphere here is warm yet modern, and you'll definitely need to dress nicely. Begin in the cocktail lounge for apps and cocktails, then explore Chef Danny Grant's culinary creations by tasting the Spanish grilled octopus and short rib bolognese. RH Rooftop
You might be surprised that Restoration Hardware (now called RH Gallery), the well-known luxury home retailer, opened a rooftop bar and restaurant atop its Knox Street store. It's not only convenient to be able to head upstairs to eat after shopping below but the food and vibes are top-notch. Enjoy the lobster roll with truffle fries with a cold glass of white wine, or hit up Sunday brunch for mimosas and avocado toast. You'll want to make reservations for your seat in the stunning glass atrium with chandeliers and fountains on the rooftop which make it a memorable time, too (take pictures!).
The Mansion Restaurant
It doesn't get much classier than the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, and the onsite restaurant offers a one-of-a-kind elegant dining experience. If you're celebrating something big, order the chef's seasonal tasting menu with the added wine pairings. You must make room for dessert (plus you get to stay longer and enjoy the gorgeous dining room at the Mansion), such as the blackberry cake or ice cream and sorbet tasting. Book a room at the Mansion and return for brunch if you like.
Truluck's
It doesn't get much better than this gem In the Uptown area, preparing mostly steak and seafood dishes and offering an extensive wine list. While there are several Truluck's around the country, there's no "chain restaurant" feel here. If eating dinner, begin with the jumbo lump crab cake and a wedge salad before moving on to a beautiful steak or plate of scallops. Any shared sides are a good choice - try the lobster mac and cheese if you're feeling fancy. If there's a vegan in your group, they'll have plenty of options to choose from as well. Don't forget about Truluck's private dining rooms for your special celebrations.
Uchi
Originally open in Austin, Chef Tyson Cole graced Dallas with Uchi's presence in 2015, and it remains one of the best dining experiences around. Make note it's Japanese cuisine, specifically sushi, before reserving a table. For a business dinner or other special occasion, the chef's tasting consisting of ten courses is a great way to try everything. Don't miss the foie gras (duck liver) or fried milk for dessert, and a sake selection will bring the meal altogether.
