Get Joyful and Triumphant with these Festive Holiday Drinks
Warm up with some of the best coffees and hot cocktails in Dallas.
Now that Thanksgiving is over and winter is on its way, it's time to get nice and cozy with some of the best holiday coffee drinks that Dallas has to offer.
Mexican Peppermint Mocha - Hola Café
Oak Cliff
Hidden away in Oak Cliff is one of the newest, yet more intimate coffee shops in all of Dallas. While the shop is small, the flavor from their Mexican Peppermint Mocha is quite the opposite. They've partnered with Encanto Pops who provides the special mix of chocolate from Mexico and a secret blend of spices to create this uniquely Dallas flavor. Hola Café is open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Sunday, 9 a.m. to noon.
Minty Matcha - Magnolias: Sous Le Pont
Harwood District
A French-inspired coffee shop, Magnolias: Sous Le Pont has artistically paired mint and matcha to create the Minty Matcha, a vanilla mint matcha latte. While the pairing seems uncommon, once you taste it, you'll find it's a perfect combination. Magnolias has also brought back a customer favorite, their version of the peppermint mocha latte, the Fa-La-La-La-Latte. Magnolias is open every day, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Cookie Butter Latte - Café Victoria
Victory Park
New to Café Victoria this year is the Cookie Butter Latte. Based on the European spread made from ground-up spice cookies, this flavorful latte has best been described as a "hug in a cup." If coffee isn't your thing but you want something to warm you up, you'll get a kick out of their Mexican Chile Hot Chocolate made with Mexican chile syrup, cayenne pepper and cocoa. Café Victoria is open every day, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
S'mores Latte - Halcyon Coffee
Lower Greenville
Halcyon prides themselves on having something for everyone. That's why it's so difficult to choose just one coffee drink to talk about. However, if there's one reason to stop by, it's definitely the S'mores Latte, which follows in the tradition of their S'mores, meaning you can roast your marshmallow. If you're looking for something a little more grown up, be sure to warm up with the spirited Apple Ginger Toddy. Halcyon is open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Mezcal Chai Latte - Wild Detectives
Bishop Arts District
Wild Detectives broke all the rules when they opened their unorthodox bookstore / coffeehouse / venue and they're continuing the tradition by bringing back their Mezcal Chai Latte. Mixed with Veran Mezcal Coffee Liqueur, this cocktail mixes the bold flavors of coffee and the sweet and spiciness of a chai latte. For something a little more traditional, you can always indulge in an Irish Coffee made with Tullamore Dew, a triple-distilled Irish whiskey. Wild Detectives is open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to midnight.
Christmas Roast - White Rock Coffee
